Yuck!

Okay, so apparently Hobbs and I are just trying to get sick. First of all, we went to Rose Hill this past weekend and we were outside playing. Hobbs is obsessed with picking up the rocks in Grandma and Grandpa's driveway and so we do that a lot. However, he came around the car and I noticed that what he was holding did not quite look like a rock and seemed to have some fuzz on it. Well, it was in fact not a rock but a dead mouse (or shrew-not quite sure). Either way I freaked out, yelled at him to drop it (which thankfully he did, since God knows I didn't want to touch it), and took him inside to wash his hands. Eeewwww!!! You've gotta love the country and cats around the house!

When we got home, I made a quick stop at the gas station to pick up a bag of ice. I threw away our Wendy's trash, then went in to get the ice...but I realized I had no keys. I looked in the car (several times!) but found no keys. I remembered that it had been an awfully big thud when I threw the trash away...grrrr! So, I asked for a pair of plastic gloves and started digging through the large gas station trashcan filled with all kinds of wonderful goodies. Of course, it was full.(Hobbs was strapped into his carseat the whole while-I didn't need his help!) A big hairy biker with black leather and a doo rag (one of those that would normally seem a little scary) and his biker chick were so nice and came to help me sort and got another bag for me to transfer the trash to. Well, long story short, the keys were not in the trashcan-ugh!-but then my biker hero came up with the idea to lift the trashcan out of the holder and see if the keys had somehow slipped through the cracks on the side! He lifted and there they were!!! It was one of the most disgusting things I've ever had to do (and I got quite a few stares from people coming and going) but it all washed off. I guess there are 2 things to be learned from this story: 1. Don't judge someone right away-they may not be what you think. 2. Don't be a dummy and throw your keys in the trash!!! :)

Aw, my little germaphobe! Reminds me of when we lived together and you *had* to wash your feet before bed. :D I'm glad you found them!

Shawn threw his cell phone in the trash one time - it was inside a McDonald's bag. How it got there is beyond me, but needless to say, he got a new phone... :-)

Glad you escaped the mouse and were able to avoid the plague!!!
